Software Packaging
Software and its associated packaging, duplication, consolidation and distribution requirements remains the cornerstone of Magellan's business and as such we offer a wealth of experience in software packaging solutions.
Never forgetting the key objective of affording complete protection for your software product, consideration must be given to the following elements when deciding upon the right packaging option for you:
Distribution Channel: Sales through retail outlets or direct to customers via courier or post.
Only when all these factors have been taken into consideration can we determine the appropriate solution for your needs.

Typical Applications
Retail Packs
For products destined for the retail shelf the most common format is a standard tuck in top and bottom carton produced in folding box board. For additional strength an internal sleeve produced in plain B Flute corrugated is inserted. The outer box is generally printed in 4 color process to offer maximum impact on shelf and for protection from tampering shrink-wrapping is applied.
Business to Business
Our most popular software packaging option, particularly when being dispatched direct to the customer, is an 0427 or 'pizza style' box. This is a flatter box, incorporating a hinged lid, and it is generally accompanied by a separate internal fitment used to hold a CD or DVD case. The space above the fitment can be sized to accommodate manuals, release notes, license envelopes etc. Produced in E Flute corrugated material this style affords all the protection required to enable it to simply be inserted into a mailite envelope. For extra protection or a more professional looking pack however you may wish to use a simple, single outer shipper constructed from B Flute corrugated material.
High Value Software
For a high value product where a prestige, high quality look and feel is required we would always recommend rigid board, as using this material allows us to create a truly custom and often unique solution. Usually based upon an outer slipcase with an inner tray or 'book formation': we can construct sliding drawers, pockets and all manner of cavities for housing your software and associated components. High density foams can be used for cushioning contents within the packs to promote that extra quality feel. Constructed from 1200 to 2000 micron solid greyboard, then wrapped in fine quality printed art paper, there is no better way to present your software product.
